The McCarty Elementary PTA provides funding and coordinates volunteers for a number of programs designed to help our children learn outside of their normal curriculum. See our programs and events below for more information and to find out how you can help!
Awesome Art is a fun and creative way to volunteer in your child’s classroom! It is an opportunity to present an artist, share a story, discuss a painting and/or do a short project once a month.
As you may know, this is a great PTA program that allows parents to volunteer for 30-40 minutes once a month to discuss art and do a short project with your child’s class. You will coordinate with the classroom teacher to find a day & time that works best for both parties. Our goal is to get at least one parent volunteer for each classroom. If this is something you are interested in click here for more information!
The PTA has a cabinet full of art supplies, posters and folders with useful information for each artist at your fingertips!
Date: Once a month during school.
Stay tuned for more information on how you can help show your thanks to all our McCarty staff for all they do for our kids!
Date: Throughout the year with Staff Appreciation Week in early May
Who doesn’t like a party? There is no greater party then our grade room parties! Help our students celebrate the 100th day of school, the solar system, the environment, and other fantastic grade level themes.
Grade Coordinators are responsible for coordinating with the lead teacher, planning activities, crafts, and snacks for the room party. Room Coordinators will be responsible for assisting the coordinator to help prepare the room party and secure classroom volunteers. Party Dates and Times are subject to change.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. In addition to a traditional science fair in which students can present projects using the Scientific Method (question, hypothesis, research, experiment, data, and conclusion), students will also have the opportunity to create a project using the Engineering Method (ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve) or an art project using imagination and creativity, a critical role in the scientific process.
